Discount Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Whey Protien Review
Review by David Monyer
I have been using protein powders as long as I can remember, but I never knew the difference between whey concentrate and whey
isolate.I bought a great tasting, cheap protein powder by Ultimate Nutrition and used it for years.
Recently I discovered that there is a vast difference in the type of protein that the powders contain. A powder may claim "24 grams of
protein per serving", which may be true, but that protein may be anywhere from 29% to 90% pure! Think in terms of gasoline- you can
buy a gallon of 87 octane, or a gallon of 93 octane. They are both the same amount of "gasoline", but there is more of the "active
ingredient" in the 93 octane, which give you more power.
The protein powder I have been taking for years may be as little as 29% pure! Whey isolate is closer to 90% pure. I quickly began to
look for a better quality whey protein.
I found a few that I liked by BSN and GNC, but none of them delivered the quality I was looking for at a low price except Optimum
Nutrition. I searched just on price and found that the Optimum Whey gold delivers the most protien for the price. To make it even better,
it is one of the best tasting protein powders I have tried! I like the chocolate the best, but every couple of months I order the strawberry
to change it up a bit.
Recently, the price of whey protein went up across all manufacturers, so I had to search for an internet store with the lowest price for
my favorite supplement. I found All Star Health and have been using them exclusively ever since due to their low prices and flat
shipping fee. I always order 3 or 4 of the 5 lb canisters at a time to take advantage of the flat rate shipping charge.
